when I lived in Miami & in school I did some extra work. I worked on Bad Boys II for 4 days long days too like 12+ hrs for $100 a day. On the plus side it was on the beach surrounded by the hottest women in South Beach looking to be discovered. in general it is really boring work though.

I was an extra in Herman Wouk's Winds of War when it was filmed in Vienna, Austria.

Got a free haircut, food, jacket and tie to wear, and daily pay of $20 or $30.

Also got to march and do the Nazi salute.

Tres cool.

Does everyone get a "prize" or is it a drawing? They'd better be really nice prizes and not some crappy "Diminished Capacity" ball cap or a Matthew Broderick autograph.

On second thought, I've got better things to do.

Paid extra work ain't much better, I got $50 when I appeared as an extra in a film I was crew on in 99. At least I was prominent and identifiable in the background of a shot that was in the final cut.

Studio seeks extras in Hudson to be in new baseball movie
Thursday, May 31, 2007
By BERNETTE PEARSON
JOURNAL STAFF WRITER

Plum Pictures is looking for hundreds of Hudson County residents of all ages to play extras in a movie starring Matthew Broderick, Alan Alda, Virginia Madsen and Louis C.K.

The baseball comedy "Diminished Capacity" will be filming at the Jersey City Armory from June 5 to 8. About 400 extras are needed on different days during the week of filming. Each day extras will be needed for 12 to 14 hours on the set.

Extras are needed to play participants at a baseball card convention.

If interested, send an e-mail with your name and contact information to DIMCAPCASTING@gmail.com. Attachments of head shots and resum?s are encouraged though not necessary.

Participants will be compensated with free food and prizes.

Plum Pictures won an audience award for dramatic film at this year's Sundance Festival for "Grace is Gone," starring John Cusack. It also produced "Dedication," starring Mandy Moore.
