No student vaccine mandate for Jersey City school district unless governor makes the call: superintendent

Don’t expect any student mandates for the COVID-19 vaccine to come from the Jersey City superintendent anytime soon.

While the Hoboken school district announced on Wednesday it would require vaccination or weekly testing for students 12 and older, Jersey City Superintendent Franklin Walker isn’t making that “bold move,” at least yet.

“There will be a time when we will get to that,” Walker said, noting that as of now, the order would have to come from the state.
