I suspect Menendez is not going to spend his time trying to make Fulop miserable, but wouldn't mind giving him a push over the edge if he can help a challenger in a race.

Did you notice the byline, David "Bridgegate" Wildstein? Why is this guy given any credibility? Because he confessed?

Reports of Menendez, Fulop friendship hugely untrue

Local reporter also gets Pascrell primary story wrong

By David Wildstein, April 26 2019 5:37 pm

A Hudson Reporter story that U.S. Senator Bob Menendez and Jersey City mayor Steve Fulop have “buried the hatchet” is not true, four Hudson County Democratic insiders told the New Jersey Globe, which sought to independently verify the report.

Al Sullivan’s version, attributed to “knowledgeable sources,” says that “while the two men will not likely ever become close friends, sources say that Fulop’s popularity in Jersey City is just too great an obstacle to maintain a political feud.”

“This shows just how much being the mayor of the soon-to-be most populated city in the state can help,” Sullivan wrote.

Any chance of Menendez forgiving Fulop ended when the mayor sat on his hands during the 2018 U.S. Senate race.   Fulop might want peace, but Globe sources suggest that Menendez has no interest.
