If you are interested, it looks like the fireworks white tent is back on rt 440. Last year it was in the Kmart lot. This year it set up in the Acme parking lot towards Wendy?s. There was a big tractor trailer there this afternoon filling up the stationary ground trailer.

News12 New Jersey piece.. ( I guess they read JCList) fire departments are not happy.

New Jersey retailers stock up on fireworks ahead of July 4

HAZLET - Retailers all across New Jersey have been stocking up on fireworks ahead of the Fourth of July holiday.

Former Gov. Chris Christie signed a law last year allowing certain types of fireworks to be sold in New Jersey. But the law was signed very close to the holiday, which meant that many shops were not able to stock up in time.

But this year, with ample time to stock up, everything from small convenience stores to big box stores are carrying the items.

PS - Looks like the rt 440 tent is not open yet. Saw this on the web site:

NOTE: Some Stands & Tents may not yet be open. Open dates are subject to local laws, ordinances and regulations

Aren't they just selling fountains & that stuff. I don't think they are allowed to sell any aerial or explosive stuff. I'd like to pass by there during the week.
I saw that tent up but figured it was for Kmart selling some liquidation stuff out there.

I?ll check it out later.
This is the kind of fireworks Target sells.

I could see fires and burns with the fountain stuff.
(although they are fun to watch)

I always hated sparklers. When I was a kid I was the fool who after the sparkler almost finished and throw on the ground I would run over and pick up the hot metal stick from the wrong end. I still have the scares to prove it...ouch.

I thought I was transported to South of the Border on I-95 today when I saw the many TNT Fireworks signs, flags, banners, and a big white tent in the Rt 440 Kmart parking lot. I saw the tent go up during the week and was wondering what it would hold. Well today I found out it is a TNT Fireworks tent.

I know some are legal now after Christie signed the law on June 28, 2017. I guess there wasn?t much time last year to get stores stocked for the 4th of July. Looks like they are well stocked this year saw them in Target.

Interesting to see how many fires and injuries there will be in JC this year.

TNT Fireworks site: (and don?t think it is just for us hicks on the other side of rt 78?it looks like they have a TNT tent Downtown too..wee doggies!)

PS ? as I was getting food at the nearby Wendy?s 3 JCPD SUV?s were next to the tent and it looked like they were going over the sellers (with a Joe Dirt mullet) papers and seeing what he had in the nearby storage trailer. Reminded me of when we used to get busted for having mats of firecrackers back in the day. The coppers used to confiscate them and bring them to the ?evidence room??yeah right.
