I stopped in today. It?s great to have a market like this in JSQ. Has all the essentials. Clean place, friendly employees. Prices seemed a bit high though.

Jersey City brothers open 2nd supermarket

Jersey City has a new supermarket.

The owners of Sub Hub Market & Grill on Bergen Avenue have opened a second location on Kennedy Boulevard near Tonnelle Avenue called Sub Hub Market Fresh Supermarket.

Born and raised in Jersey City, owners Omar and Abdel Tamer (they're brothers) say the store's smaller size is what sets it apart from other supermarkets. Less square footage means savings on rent, and in turn, lower prices for customers. But the Tamers say the store will still carry all items that customers need -- just not in bulk like the bigger stores do.
