Those two statements seem somewhat contradictory. If Benjamin is indeed deteriorating and now getting more belligerent, it would be prudent if someone could approach the brother about perhaps getting him some additional help. Walking around acting out, being belligerent and shouting racist nonsense is a surefire way to get into some serious trouble, including a beating by someone with a short fuse and/or anger issues.

Does anyone know which homeless man this is?

There is that crazy guy who wears construction clothing and yells and swears at people on the street -- he has gotten into lots of fights.

If it is the guy from Erie Street he is not the man who got stabbed. I was told his name is Benjamin. He lives in the condos across from Prato. He seems to be deteriorating in that he is more confrontational and has added a racist component to his rants. He is cared for by his brother.

A 46-year-old man was stabbed 13 times yesterday after he got into an argument on a jitney bus at Kennedy Boulevard and Thorne Street in the Jersey City Heights, police said.

The victim, who is believed to be homeless, was in critical but stable condition last night at Jersey City Medical Center-Barnabas Health, police said.
