Yoga in the Heights, a Jersey City yoga studio and wellness center, is reaching out to the Hispanic community by offering classes "en Espanol."

According to the 2010 Census Bureau, Latinos and Hispanics comprise over 27 percent of the population in Jersey City. Owners Bridget Fujioka and Stephanie Kumar teamed up with yoga instructor Adriana Rambay Fern?ndez to develop the class to make yoga more accessible to Spanish-speakers in the area.

"I thought it was a great opportunity to serve the Latino population in Jersey City," said Fern?ndez, a first-generation Dominican-American. "Their interest and desire aligned with my own vision of making yoga more accessible to Latinos, which was one of the reasons I became certified to teach."
