Speaking of planning, they are hosting this meeting at the same time the American Planning Association is having their national conference and lots of local planners (including some of the JC planners) will not even be in town.

I just received this, If interested please stop by.

As residents in Jersey City, you are cordially invited to join Together North Jersey, the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA) and Jersey City on April 15, 2013 for a participatory public workshop, to gather input for plans that will help shape the future of the entire North Jersey region.

You are vital voices in determining the course of the city?s future. This workshop will give you the opportunity to share your ideas about how best to plan for the future: how to build stronger communities and local and regional economies with better access to transportation, housing, jobs, and educational, cultural, and recreational opportunities.

The workshop will take place at the Culinary Conference Center (161 Newkirk Street, Jersey City, NJ 07306) from 6:00pm to 8:30pm. A light meal will be served and, if necessary, translation services will be available. Special activities will be held for kids - so bring them too!

The workshop is hosted by Jersey City on behalf of the NJTPA and Together North Jersey, an ambitious regional planning effort that aims to improve opportunities throughout northern New Jersey by improving regional connections and decision-making. Your participation will make a critical difference.

Please find attached a PDF of the flyer in English and Spanish. We?d like to ask you to:
Attend our meeting and let your voice be heard!
Forward the information to organizations and people in your sphere of influence, so that they may also participate
Print it out and post it wherever is appropriate, to ensure that as many people as possible know about the workshop
Share with your colleagues and ask them to do the same
Post it on your Facebook page, website, and community calendar
Include it in any email blasts you send out
We look forward to seeing you at the workshop, and in the meantime if you have any questions or requests, we urge you to contact Miriam Salerno, Outreach and Communications Specialist for Together North Jersey, at miriam.salerno@ejb.rutgers.edu or 848-932-2876.

Thank you in advance for your help in making this effort a success.

All the best,
Miriam Salerno
