I saw like 10 cops on 6th arresting some kid and talking to a 20-something business guy that had just been mugged on 6th. I assume it was the same incident.

Kudos to the police for catching the guy right away.

A little more infor on this please. Where did you hear of this and what time did it happen. If it's true then DT J.C. is starting to become a target. Time to toughen up folks, your cell phones can't save you on this one.

Where on 8th did this happen?? Hopefully this is a wake-up call for the police to increase the number of patrols in the area. To be robbed in front of your own house is crazy.

Glad they caught at least one of the perps.....these guys were after all running east towards the 7th Street police station!!

Now that summer is practically here could these criminals have come from the basketball court in Hamilton Park. It's obvious the two were not from the neighborhood. I guess they seeked out a rich one in the Downtown section.

Heights 17-year-old arrested in holdup

Published: Friday, June 15, 2012, 3:00 AM
By Michaelangelo Conte/The Jersey Journal

A 17-year-old Jersey City Heights boy was arrested minutes after a gunpoint robbery in Downtown late Wednesday night and the victim?s property was recovered.

When officers responded to the 32-year-old victim?s Eigth Street home just after 11 p.m. he told them he had just gotten home from work and was smoking in front of the residence when two males approached him, reports said.

The robber holding a silver handgun said, ?Give me your wallet,? and the second said, ?Give me your bag,? reports said.

The boys ran east on Eighth toward Erie Street, but police quickly broadcast a description and a male fitting the description of one of the robbers was stopped nearby, reports said.

The victim identified the Palisade Avenue boy as one of the robbers and when police found the boy?s car, they found the victim?s bag and wallet inside, reports said.
