If you still haven't signed the petition for Ron Paul tomorrow will be the last days as the petitions need to be notarized and handed in Saturday.
Please stop by Barcade on Newark Ave. Friday, March 16th, between 7 and 8pm and look for Ron Paul people collecting signatures.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to collect signatures until this weekend. Is the St. Patricks Day parade a good place to get signatures? I may be there on my bicycle.

Only signatures of registered Republicans count.
A signature from a non-affiliated voter is invalid.

However, unaffiliated voters are allowed to vote in the upcoming Republican Primary, but if you do vote, your affiliation gets changed to Republican.

A registered Democrat who wants to change to Republican in order to vote for Ron Paul in NJ, must apply to switch AT LEAST 55 DAYS BEFORE the primary. The Primary is June 5th. So to be safe you need to apply before April 9th.

A registered voter currently not affiliated with a political party may declare their party affiliation up to and including Primary Election day.

More info:
http://www.state.nj.us/state/elections/parties_doe.html

T-Bird: It takes 1,000 signatures to get on the ballot. I'm not sure how far along we are yet. The deadline for sigs is April 2nd.
The organizers are trying for 2,000 signatures to be safe.

HobbiesOdd: You would have to change your affiliation to Republican before signing, but you can vote in the Republican Primary.

stc4blues: I will check out your site more when I can. But I really like how OWS has ignited the public discourse about our increasingly Dickensian society. When I talk about how I think sociopathic greed is destroying this country's formally successful hybrid of capitalism/socialism, I always mention how Ben&Jerry's originally had a corporate rule that the lowest paid worker in the corporation could not make less than 1/10th of the highest paid worker. When you think about it, is this such a bad rule for a corporate entity? With this rule, the CEO can pay himself as much as he wants, but he also has to raise the other salaries accordingly. Simple. But of course, they had to remove the rule eventually. Currently CEOs make greater than 300 TIMES more than the avg. worker.

How about registered Independents (or "unaffiliated)?
Can we vote in the Republican primary? If so, I'll gladly sign your petition.

Miles - Like T-Bird I'm registered as a Democrat, so I can't help you. But I'm sympathetic to Paul's candidacy and I sure hope he gets on the ballot. I run a blog that's RP friendly:

Miles - I'm a Dem so, sorry I can't help you. But I am curious: how many signatures does it take to get on the ballot in NJ? When is the deadline? How far along is he? Best of luck to you - I hope he makes it on to the ballot.
