That might be true. But it was also true that Hoboken cabbies used the route as a cut-thru between Hoboken to JC to avoid tailbacks at the Holland tunnel pre-2000. I got enough cabs back in the day to know that was true.

Before the light rail was built, I'm pretty sure you could drive from Observer Highway in Hoboken, past the Motorcycle Club, through to Coles/Hoboken Ave along the route that is now used by the Light Rail itself.

nothing on Coles disappeared. Some of it was rerouted during pre-construction but it's all back, same as before (and has been for many months).

What disappeared between Jersey City and Hoboken? I know they rearranged some stuff around the freight crossing, but I don't think any routes disappeared.

Is anyone else concerned about the roads and walkways that have disappeared under new developments in JC in recent years?

For example, roads between JC and Hoboken at the end of Coles near the Hoboken MC disappeared during the light rail development. Roads around Caven Point were swallowed by the JC golf course.

Other countries like the UK have laws that protect the access rights of the public. Should we have better public consultation in JC?
