Where did people get the idea that 1%=Wall Street. Wall St employs cleaners, janitors, bank tellers, operations staff, all of whom earn much less than teachers and other public employees.
http://nyjobsource.com/salaries.html Look at the stats for CEOs and lawyers. Compare bank tellers to teachers. I think the whole OccupyWallSt misses the point. (Then ask the same question globally.)

I still don't get what these people want or what they hope to achieve.
If I work on Wall Street (which I don't but just hypothetically), and get a $1 million bonus check am I supposed to give it away to be divided up among these people? If I loaned any of them money (and I don't work for any bank or Sallie Mae) am I supposed to forgive the loan? At least this group bathed somewhat before coming out. I walk by the Wall Street area encampment nearly every day on my way to work and manage to catch a large whiff of body odor in the morning and evening. If they would just clean themselves up a little bit and come out with a somewhat coherent message and demands I could take them seriously. Every time I ask these questions, I get the old "you don't understand, you're missing the point, this is something bigger" shot back at me. When I ask, so what is the point, what is bigger, nobody has an answer for me.
