Healy is like your affable drunk uncle. Too bad you wouldn't want your drunk uncle to be Mayor.

I just want to know where our 2011 budget is...

It's now September. 9 months late.

Terrible singing, recall Healy now for this atrocity.

Jersey City?s Mayor Has a Sinatra Moment Wall Street Journal METROPOLIS HOME PAGE ? By Aaron Rutkoff In a new television commercial, Jersey City?s mayor does it his way ? singing a few bars of Frank Sinatra with an impressively tuneful flair, for a politician. The ad, which invites viewers to the upcoming JC PowerHouse Short Film Festival in Jersey City, N.J., stars Mayor Jerramiah Healy as an elected official looking to make his most of a moment in front of the cameras.

"JC PowerHouse Short Film Festival" Sept.30-Oct.2, 2011 from A.Thomas on Vimeo.

The parody shows a very serious production crew doing its best to film a straightforward promo for the festival. The mayor throws a wrench into things by first trying to sing his lines and then appearing with a mic and doing a full-throated rendition of Johnny Mercer?s ?Summer Wind.? (No word as to whether the mayor of nearby Hoboken will protest the imitation of that city?s most famous native son.) Healy?s singing is the best musical performance by a New Jersey mayor since North Bergen Mayor Nicholas Sacco?s rapping campaign ad released last May, which featured the clunky-yet-catchy tagline, ?I be from North Bergen, son.? True, Sacco did not himself rap in the video, but since his campaign paid, it seems fair to credit him as a producer.
