View Larger Map Three people shot on Jersey City street corner shortly; one man in critical condition Published: Saturday, August 27, 2011, 11:52 AM Updated: Saturday, August 27, 2011, 11:53 AM By Michaelangelo Conte/The Jersey Journal A Jersey City man is fighting for his life after being shot in the head during a triple shooting yesterday morning, and a second man wounded in the incident was shot on the same corner Sunday, officials said. The 27-year-old victim is in critical condition at the Jersey City Medical Center as a result of being shot at Grant Avenue and Rose Avenue at about 1:15 a.m., said Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio, whose homicide squad is involved in the investigation. The 18-year-old man who was shot in the back is at the Medical Center as well and is listed in stable condition, DeFazio said. The 18-year-old was shot in the leg at the same intersection on Sunday, officials said, adding that the man, who turned 18 last month, ?is known to police.? During yesterday?s shooting, a 23-year-old woman was also shot, DeFazio said, adding that she suffered a leg wound and is also hospitalized. The prosecutor said the victims were on the street when a car pulled up and men got out, reports said. A heated argument erupted, followed by gunfire before the men fled in the vehicle, DeFazio said. The two male victims appear to have been the targets, DeFazio said, adding the woman was standing some distance from them. DeFazio said there is no indication the victims were armed or returned fire. Each victim was shot at least once, but the total number of shots fired is not yet clear. Witnesses to the shooting were being interviewed yesterday.
