There is currently only one (legal) B&B in JC and it's downtown.

Airbnb.com-- people rent out rooms, couches, whole homes, whole apartments, etc I've used it before (not in JC though) and had great experiences.

There's another site similar to this for people renting out rooms/sofa's etc that a friend was telling me about, that they use and I cannot remember it. This one is near central/private room in a house...

http://www.roomft.com/search_results_ ... &yy=0&nights=-1&x=65&y=21

If I think of the other site I will post.

Not exactly a B&B, but you might want to check out this site for vacation homes to rent:

http://www.vrbo.com/

I saw a couple listed in Jersey City, not sure if any are in the Heights though.

The Ramada would probably be your best bet. It's not seedy like most of the ones on 1-9, and still relatively close to the area you described

something tells me that being next door to the hookers out on 1/9 while the rest of the family enjoys the comforts of home isn't what the OP intended.

I don?t know about any B&B here, but the motels on 1/9 are pretty cheap. There?s the Ramada Inn in Journal Square, probably a bit better than the motels, but I don?t know what the rates are.

Don't laugh - I know the Heights isn't anyones idea of a vacation destination LOL. But I would love to invite my brother & his family down, and don't have room for them all. My brother & sister-in-law are very low key, amiable vegetarians, and would enjoy a B&B while the kids bunk with me.

I'm on Sherman Avenue between Franklin and Hutton. Any suggestions?
