Because of the over night garbage pick-ups you have to remember to get your garbage out on time. I wonder if this guy knew the culprits, I would feel better if they did. To think that something so inocent as putting out the garbage then getting attacked by garbage can happen in front of your own home is horrible. Some of these idiots weren't even from this section of town. This can happen on the spur of the moment and probably will occur again so don't be surprised when it does. You can't prevent when they're thinking and what they are about to do. Just watch over your shoulder.

View Larger Map Jersey City man taking out trash is robbed and beaten; suspects arrested minutes later Tuesday, August 03, 2010 A Jersey City Heights man who was putting out the trash was beaten and robbed by a group of young men early Saturday, but police quickly arrested the suspects inside a fast food restaurant on Central Avenue, reports said. At 12:56 a.m., police arrested Johnathan Lee Zevas, 21, of Belmont Avenue, as well as a 17-year-old Kennedy Boulevard boy and a 17-year-old Thorne Street boy inside the McDonald's restaurant at Franklin Street, and charged them with robbery, reports said. Along with the three males, 18-year-old Kayla E. Phillips of Winfield Avenue was arrested after police found she had multiple bags of suspected marijuana, reports said. Also, a 16-year-old Palisade Avenue girl described by the victim as being at the robbery was spotted at Griffith Street and Central and arrested when police found she had 13 bags of suspected marijuana, reports said. The 20-year-old victim said he was in front of his home on New York Avenue near Bowers Street at 12:32 a.m. when the three males attacked him and took turns punching him in the face while a number of females looked on, reports said. His gold chain, wallet and cell phone were taken, and when the arrests were made inside McDonald's the gold chain and medallion were recovered next to a soda dispenser, reports said. An ambulance responded and treated the victim but he refused further medical attention, reports said. MICHAELANGELO CONTE
