When will our Illustrious Mayor Healy step up and say this is unacceptable. There is practically a shooting every day in Jersey City. When will he speak out on crime in Jersey City? Team Healy campaigned on safer streets in Jersey City.

This is unacceptable. That's two shootings in less then 36 hours on the same block. When are we getting a new police commissioner! !!

Gunman in ski mask shoots 20-year-old in waist, police say

Monday, January 11, 2010

A 20-year-Jersey City man was critically injured after being shot in his waist early Saturday, police reports said.

Responding to the shooting at Pacific and Communipaw avenues at 1:36 a.m., police found the victim face up on the sidewalk, reports said.

The 20-year-old, who began to drift in and out of consciousness, told police the man who shot him was wearing a ski mask and fled the scene on foot, reports said.

The victim was treated for a single gunshot wound to the left side of his waist at Jersey City Medical Center where he was listed in critical but stable condition, reports said.
