Hi, can anyone recommend a reputable & honest indy repairman or repair shop that they have used?

I overloaded my kitchenaid mixer with bread dough, blowing out the motor, and I ended up dragging it out to Brooklyn on the subway ( I don't have a car) to this place:

Solomon's Appliance Center
1701 86th Street
Brooklyn, NY 11214
Phone: 718-236-5065
Fax: 718-236-9045

They had it good as new in about a week, and it has been running fine ever since.

Did you try calling kitchen aid directly? My mixer broke about a year after I bought it. I think it was my fault because the gear stop turning after the dough hook got jammed on a chunck of hardened brown sugar. I called them up. They sent me a new one no questions asked and a shipping label for the old one. It is a $300 item, so they really stand behind their products and were very apologetic about the old one breaking.

There's a guy on Newark Avenue, downtown. Danilo's is the name of the place. (I think he's the Danilo). It's two doors down from Nia's, formerly Baker Boys Cafe, just west of the Monmouth St. intersection. He's old school and does all the work himself. He's probably a good (cheap) bet.

The blade stem on my Kitchenaid food processor is stuck and won't come off. Apparently, it's something that happens to these things sometimes. It's recommended to let a repair tech fix it.

There is one in Bayonne, a couple in Weehawken. Can anyone recommend any of them, either way?

Thanks.
