It seems ironic but the only movie that was playing that late was titled "The Uninvited" -- maybe they were mad the missed "Paul Blart: Mall Cop"

Maybe they should only play movies like "Hotel for Dogs" late night.

Moviegoers pull thugs off worker

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

It was like a scene from a movie last Saturday night when moviegoers stepped in to stop a mob from beating a 17-year-old employee at the Hudson Mall Cinemas in Jersey City, officials said.

Responding to a large fight at the theater on Route 440 at 9:22 p.m., police were told by the manager that several juveniles assaulted the employee - one of them punching the youth in the face, reports said.

The thugs fled after customers stepped in to help the victim, reports said. One of the juveniles picked up a sign and threw it at a door, breaking a window before he fled, reports said.

Mall security, who also responded to the scene, told cops they were also assaulted when they tried to remove the juveniles from the mall, reports said.

The manager refunded money to the patrons and closed the theater, reports said.

It was not clear from police reports what led to the fracas.
