You should probably start by going to the Hudson Co. Court House. They will provide you with forms, instructions and the court rules. There is actually a form complaint for you to use. Lot's of luck.

Could anyone tell me how to initiate the process of taking someone to Small Claims Court?
A customer is apparently not intending to pay me for consulting work. The amount is under $500 so a lawyer makes no sense. Thanks,
