Suez North America, the water company that manages Jersey City's water supply, will begin its annual spring fire hydrant testing next week, a spokeswoman said.

Beginning Monday and continuing through October, SUEZ crews will be testing water mains and fire hydrants throughout the Jersey City service area.

Suez crews will be conducting these tests from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The first phase of the work will start in the Newport area and move to the Jersey City Heights.

The final phase of the work will cover Downtown Jersey City. The water company will send out daily updates of the streets that will be affected each day.
