Understand your initial question as it has happened to me - car being towed when "no-parking" signs being put up after car was parked. But in this case I believe the signs were up since last Friday. It's a hassle and pain, and costs a lot of money. Sorry.

Just parked my car on 7th between Erie and Jersey last night on the No Parking Mon/Fri side of the street. Got a call from JCPD (not the Parking Authority) today that they were impounding my car because they were milling the street. I didn't see signs for that anywhere last night. Is this BS, or did I just miss the signs? (I know they're milling the street...just wondering if anyone else saw signs there yesterday). Thanks.
