I applaud you for helping this cat. But how do you know it does not have an owner? Have you taken it to a vet or Liberty Humane shelter to see if it has a microchip? Have you posted about it on the Lost pets facebook page? Have you put up flyers about it in your neighborhood?

If you've already done all these things without finding the owner, and a decent amount of time has passed, then godspeed on getting him re-homed. If you haven't tried these things, please stop and do them first. Someone might be frantically looking for their lost pet and I'm sure you'd want someone to take such steps if you lost your pet. :)
