Jersey City's public-school district will hold two informational sessions this week on the new Innovation High School, a small school housed inside Snyder High School that will open in the fall with 100 students.
The sessions are tomorrow, May 6, at School 17, 600 Bergen Ave., and Thursday, May 8 at School 41, 59 Wilkinson Ave. Both sessions are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. District officials say the new school will provide "a nurturing environment and will ensure that all students will take college level courses before they graduate high school." All Jersey City eighth graders are eligible to compete for admittance, and if there are over 100 applicants, a lottery system will choose who attends. District spokeswoman Maryann Dickar said an informational session held Saturday saw over 100 attendees. http://www.nj.com/hudson/index.ssf/20 ... _school.html#incart_river
