The City of Jersey City honored Veterans Saturday, November 10th, 2018 with its Annual Veterans Day Parade.
Jersey City?s Veterans Day Parade has grown larger each year and parade goers lined the parade route as the many contingents marched, which included Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop, a former US. Where to go to in Hudson County for Veterans Day events Updated 3:54 PM; Posted 3:48 PM By David Mosca Dmosca@jjournal.com The Jersey Journal Every year on Veterans Day we honor the service of all veterans that have served in the United States Armed Forces. This year, there are a number of events across Hudson County to pay tribute to those who bravely served: Jersey City -- A Veterans Day flag-raising ceremony will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at City Hall, 280 Grove St., from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. An art exhibition will follow the ceremony on the third floor of City Hall. -- On Saturday, Nov. 10, the Jersey City Veterans Day Parade will kick off from Dickinson High School, 2 Palisade Ave., at noon and conclude at City Hall. -- Following the Jersey City Veterans Day Parade, The Samuel R. Shelton VFW Post 2294, 98 Oak St., will host a Veterans Day celebration with food, festivities, and the music of the Spirit of Life Ensemble and the Mary Aiken Ensemble. -- The Korean War Veterans of Hudson County will be honoring all veterans on Monday, Nov. 12, at the Korean War monument at Washington and Dudley Street at 10 a.m. -- The Historic Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery will hold its annual "Honoring Our Heroes" Veterans Day tribute at Harsimus Cemetery, 435 Newark Ave. on Nov. 11 from 1 to 3 p.m. The event will feature a Flag Waving Annual Tribute for veterans. There will also be performances by the American Bombshells, MTV artist Lovari, and Aart Markenstein.
