Just in timfor Earth Day, Jersey City has been rated the 10th greenest city in America, according to an online study.
NerdWallet.com, a financial research website that provides consumer-driven advice and analysis, compiled its list by examining the nation's 150 largest cities and evaluating them based on a number of criteria, including air quality index, housing density, energy sources and choice of transportation.
Jersey City rated favorably in public transportation, as 46 percent of commuters use public transportation to get to work. Only New York scored higher in this category, at 56 percent.
