Municipal and school parking lots open to residents during storm
By Patrick McGovern | The Jersey Journal on January 26, 2015 at 6:09 PM, updated January 26, 2015 at 6:37 PM According to the official Jersey City web site, the following municipal parking lots are open to any resident, no permit required, through the duration of tonight?s winter storm. Residents do not need to feed meters if there are meters in the lot. ? 693 Newark Avenue ? 733 Newark Avenue (adjacent to Casa Dante) ? 174 Newark Avenue (behind Palace Drugs) ? 522 West Side Avenue (near Union Street) ?754 West Side Avenue (near Fairmount) ? 328-342 Central Avenue (behind Burger King) ? Montgomery & Orchard Street (across from the Armory) After 5 pm, residents may also park in the following school parking lots. ? # 7 Laidlaw Avenue ? # 11 Bergen & Academy ? #15 135 Stegman Street ? #17 Bergen & Belmont ? # 40 88 Gates Ave ? # 41 Wilkinson & Ocean ? Dickenson High School - Palisade Avenue ? Lincoln High School Crescent Avenue ? Ferris High School Montgomery Street People parked in the above school lots should move their vehicles no later than 6 am Wednesday morning. According to the website, the City is aggressively enforcing parking violations that will impede snow removal, such as double parking and parking on corners, with violators being towed.
