A mathematician and City University of New York executive has been selected to replace outgoing New Jersey City University president Carlos Hernandez, who retires at the end of the month.
The NJCU Board of Trustees voted unanimously tonight, with one member absent, to appoint Sue Henderson, the chief operating officer of CUNY's Queens College, as the new president of Jersey City's 9,000-student university. Henderson, who has served as the Queens College COO since 2011 and is also the college's vice president of institutional advancement, will become NJCU's 12th president when she takes office on Aug. 6.NJCU First Women President.
