The lot accessible from Newark or Bay is public, metered parking. I think there are also evening hours when you don't need to feed the meters (double check first!)

You'll find lots of meters around the post office on Washington.
And if I'm not mistaken, you can park nearly anywhere for less than 2 hours without getting a ticket during the day and shouldn't have any issues at night.

There are meters on Columbus and Grove and half of Newark and a shoppers parking lot somewhere off of Newark and also a parking deck at the corner of Morgan and Grove.

Is the parking lot between Newark and Bay Sts (behind LITM) a public metered lot, or is it residential permit only? Are there any other public lots Downtown with metered/short-term parking? I live on the West Side and I (finally!) just got a car - I would like to patronize some of your lovely Downtown businesses in my automobile, but not if I have to park so far away I might as well have walked from Lincoln Park. . .any suggestions appreciated.
