At least he had an answer, too bad you didn't remember. I wonder if he knew why different flage flew though. I think former mayor Bret Schundler started the flag raising perhaps to coincide with different ethinic events throughout Jersey City.

I cannot answer your question as to how the flag (or flags) of the month are chosen.
I remember when Mayor Cunningham was campaigning and asking him why the City spends monies on all these different flags when the American flag (which represents all) is the only one needed. I cannot remember his answer.

Does anyone know how JC chooses which flags to hang outside of City Hall? Yesterday I noticed the Argentine flag was hanging, and I am really curious. Of course, I went into City Hall and no one could give me an answer. Any insight?
