I am new to the area and looking for a neurologist. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Expect a very thorough exam (up to 30 minutes) including balance, eye coordination, hand/arm/finger coordination, checking of reflexes in hand, arms, legs, ankles, checking pressure in same (they will push down or pull up as you resist), thorough review of all medical history and medications. I do not recommend Dr. Komar in Jersey City. I went three times and waited in her waiting room for hours (up to 3) to be seen - and then she talked mostly about her lack of a computer system. I finally began going to one in NYC. They are very expensive, however, so good luck with your search for a reasonable price.

Any recommendations for an attentive and thorough neurologist here in JC or in NYC? What should I expect from a neurologist appointment anyway? I've never been to one before...

Also, I don't have insurance :(

Thanks.
