We went last night; I can confirm they're delicious. There's a reason the line for rice balls is 5x as long than for any other food.

Because the people are so much wider?

As always I loved the Italian Catholic feast and a great way to celebrate the local parish and it's neighborhood. An event that brings old and new J.C. together even those that moved come back. Don't knock it till you tried it!

clearly you have no idea where your ass is relative to your elbow.

I have no idea what that means, but please don't let me stop you from enjoying them. You should eat them every day.

Although it's common today to use risotto rice, arancini are a Sicilian recipe, where you wouldn't find Arborio, vialone nano, or Carnaroli varieties of rice years ago. Generally a bit of ragu, perhaps with some cubed mozzarella and/or green peas, are wrapped within rice that has had had some beaten egg added, then coated in breadcrumbs and deep fried.

Yes! Those meatball sliders were amazing. I highly recommend them to anyone going this weekend.
I thought the rice balls were on par with last year, always tasty.

Haha, I noticed that too. I love Sriracha as much as the next guy, but come on y'all! Also, was it just me or were the rice balls better last year? I think the surprise great dish of the festival was the garlic knot meatball sliders from Delenio's.
SO DAMN GOOD.

We bought two rice balls, very good and priced well at $3 each. I couldn't pony up $8 for a dozen zeppoles, though. Hilarious new millennia aside-they had a bottle of Sriracha sauce on the table if people wanted to dip their arancini due to customer request! My grandmother would be shaking her head . . . !

Didn't see this posted anywhere...

Tonight is the first night of the Sixth Street Italian Festa. I think it goes through the weekend.
