Anthony Cucci did more than remove city out of Newport, he reduced its boundaries. They wanted to reach 2nd Street, he forced a compromise while others were giving away the city.

Former Jersey City Mayor Anthony Cucci dies at 92 By Terrence T. McDonald | The Jersey Journal on February 26, 2015 at 3:19 PM, updated February 26, 2015 at 5:11 PM JERSEY CITY -- Anthony Cucci, the former mayor, Downtown councilman and decorated war hero, died today at Jersey City Medical Center. He was 92. Cucci, known to everyone as "Tony," was big-hearted and modest, "the people's mayor," according to Lou Manzo, a former state assemblyman who worked in the Cucci administration.
