Jersey City mayor's influence seen on PolitickerNJ's list of most powerful officials

Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop?s allies are all over PolitickerNJ?s new power list, with his top aides and strategists dubbed some of the state?s most powerful officials.

The list, released today, doesn't include any elected officials. At the very bottom, at 101, is Marvel's new Muslim superhero, Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, who will reside in Jersey City when her series debuts in February.

Tom Bertoli, political strategist behind Fulop?s successful bid to unseat former Mayor Jerramiah Healy in May, ranks high on the list, at 35. Muhammed Akil, Fulop's chief of staff, comes in at 44, with PolitickerNJ calling Akil "a point person" for Fulop in the city's African American community.
