Jersey City reimbursed two city council members for thousands of dollars in tuition for higher education courses, drawing criticism from a local good government group who say the expenses were an improper use of public money to further elected officials’ private careers. Jersey City Council President Joyce Watterman and Ward B Councilwoman Mira Prinz-Arey together received a total of $8,924 in publicly funded reimbursement for classes they attended, according to documents obtained by local government accountability group Civic JC through an open public records request. https://www.nj.com/hudson/2021/04/2-je ... ic-helped-pay-for-it.html
