Curtis Sliwa slams Jersey City council 'putzes' and 'hipsters' for lifting boom box ban By Curtis Sliwa is attacking Jersey City council members as "schmucks" and "putzes" for the city's new noise law. The City Council tonight unanimously approved a new noise ordinance that replaces the city's current law, which bans outright any use of boom boxes in public. If you do still have an operational boom box, you won't be able to blast it too loudly: the new law requires anyone playing music outside to make sure that new Drake single is not "plainly audible" from a distance of 50 feet during the day (25 feet after 10 p.m.).
