$3 million going toward improving dangerous roadway in Jersey CityBy Hudson County has won a $3 million grant to make roadway improvements to a stretch of Kennedy Boulevard on Jersey City's West Side. The grant, awarded by the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority, will go toward replacing traffic signals at 16 intersections, pedestrian countdown signals, speed alert signs and other improvements on Kennedy Boulevard between Communipaw and Sip avenues. The grant came as the result of a study conducted by the Rutgers University Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Planning with help from local officials and community leaders. Kara Hrabosky, president of the Duncan Avenue Neighborhood Association, said the grant is a testament to what can happen when residents work together to improve their neighborhood.
