In Jersey City, Sandy-damaged City Hall will be 'very expensive' to repair

One year after Hurricane Sandy left widespread power outages and flooding in its wake, Jersey City City Hall is still not back to normal, and the mayor says the repairs will be ?very expensive.?

The Oct. 29 storm flooded the 117-year-old Grove Street municipal building?s basement, damaging documents, destroying electrical systems and forcing city offices to relocate.

The storm even shifted the staircase on the Mercer Street side of City Hall, while the stairs on the Montgomery Street side were also damaged, according to Mayor Steve Fulop.
