They say all good things must come to an end.

But in the case of the rush hour shoulder lane of traffic on the eastbound Newark Bay-Hudson County Extension, does it really have to end?

Can you hear the whining in our voice?

UPDATE DATE CHANGE:

JJ: "On or about May 6 the right shoulder will be coned off, the overhead signals will display a continuous red X, and driving on the eastbound shoulder of the extension will be prohibited once again. The DOT had initially planned to close the shoulder on April 29, but pushed it back a week to reach more drivers."

Newark Bay-Hudson County Extension drivers beware: You won?t have a shoulder to lean on

Updated 9:17 AM; Today 9:12 AM (04/23/2019)

By Ron Zeitlinger | The Jersey Journal

Eastbound Newark Bay-Hudson County Extension drivers, maybe you want to start ordering that extra large coffee and some Enya CDs for the trip to work.

New Jersey Turnpike Authority officials announced the temporary, part-time use of the right shoulder of the eastbound roadway as a third travel lane is coming to an end, so expect heavy congestion in the area as a result.
