This is being done by executive order, but I have read the budget, where in the budget did the city council vote to allow the funds for this?

Bowers St could've really used a couple of these. People speed on there everyday and forget about yielding to pedestrians.

Wait until they come up with a scheme to monitize the speed bumps in order to pay for the public schools.

It's pathetic we have to become a city of speed bumps because the police have abdicated traffic enforcement. We now have speed bumps on blocks with stops at either end! Short blocks!

Here's where Jersey City is installing dozens of new speed bumps

Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop took to Twitter on Thursday and announced a plan to install nearly 100 speed bumps throughout the city as part of the Vision Zero initiative.

A total of 86 speed bumps will be added to streets in all six of the city's wards -- with Ward F receiving the most new speed bumps (21). The list, which was compiled with input from the community, will be on next week's City Council agenda, Fulop said.

In February, Fulop signed an executive order adopting the Vision Zero initiative, which aims to eliminate car crashes that result in fatalities and severe injuries by 2026. Jersey City became the first municipality in New Jersey to adopt the Vision Zero strategy, which began in Sweden in the 1990s and has since spread to cities like New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Philadelphia.
