Why thousands of customers lost power in Jersey City Sunday morning

JERSEY CITY -- A power outage across the city sent thousands of customers into the dark early Sunday morning.

Officials with PSE&G said an issue at one of the city's substations resulted in roughly 19,000 customers losing power at around midnight.

Most of the outages were reported on the southern end of the city and on West Side. It took about two hours for service to be restored, officials said.
