Chaos erupts in courtroom as killer of father of 11 is sentenced

JERSEY CITY ? Chaos broke out in a Hudson County courtroom when a family member of a man who was stabbed to death made a mad rush at the killer as he was being led away after being sentenced to 20 years in prison for the crime.

Sheriff?s officers grabbed the enraged man and wrestled with him in order to keep him away from Nasiar Day, 20, of Newark, who pleaded guilty to the Nov. 14, 2017 aggravated manslaughter of Jose ?Migue? Malave, 30.

Second suspect sought in stabbing death of Jersey City father

JERSEY CITY -- Authorities are asking for help locating a second suspect wanted in the stabbing death of a 30-year-old father of 11 inside his home.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 19-year-old Nasiar Day of Newark for the Nov. 14 killing of Jose "Migue" Malave. Day is charged with murder, weapons offenses and conspiracy, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

Father of 11 stabbed to death defending son from sneaker robbery, family says

JERSEY CITY - A father of 11 was stabbed to death Tuesday night at home by a teenager who tried robbing his 8-year-old son of a pair of sneakers, a family member said.

Jose "Migue" Malave, 30, died in front of his girlfriend and four of his children. He had moved into his apartment at 197 Palisade Ave. two months ago, his sister Yesenia Malave said.

Malave was known by his friends and family as a man who always tried to brighten everyone's day, his sister said.
