4 displaced in Jersey City Heights fire: official
By Caitlin Mota | The Jersey Journal on April 09, 2017 at 6:00 PM, updated April 09, 2017 at 6:01 PM JERSEY CITY -- A two-alarm fire in the Heights Friday displaced four residents from their home, officials said. The fire was reported at about 8 p.m. at 25 Nelson Ave in the second floor living room of the two story home, city spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill said. No one was injured, but the fire did spread to the neighboring building and caused exterior damage. Firefighters brought the fire under control in about 30 minutes, she said. All four people that lived in the home were displaced from the fire. Preliminary reports from arson investigators indicate "discarded smoking materials" may have caused the fire.
