I prefer this than throwing them on the street to become strays, at least now they have a chance for adoption.

WTF is wrong with people, leaving animals inside boxes on the street at night?!?! Thank god they are all ok.

The city was hit yesterday with a gigantic explosion -- of cuteness.

At 11:15 p.m., a bomb squad inspected several suspicious packages left outside the police department's South District precinct -- which turned out to be full of cats, police reports say.

Two police officers found three medium-sized cardboard boxes and one large purple suitcase near the ramp leading into the police parking lot at 191 Bergen Ave., reports said.

The cardboard boxes were sealed with tape and the suitcase was closed, but all four had holes throughout, reports said.

Bomb techs inspected the packages and found eight live cats, who were "whiskered" away by the city's Office of Animal Control, reports said.

The eight adult cats were then brought to the Liberty Humane Society (LHS) animal shelter.
