A man entered a Downtown Jersey City deli late Sunday night, beat an employee with a gun and ran off with the cash register, police said.
The suspect entered Moe?s Deli on Newark Avenue at 11:53 p.m. and struck the victim in the head with a handgun, reports said.
The robber then grabbed the register, which contained $400 in cash, and ran from the scene, police said.
The victim, 26, suffered a cut to the head and was treated at the Jersey City Medical Center, reports said. About $2 in stolen coins were recovered on Barrow Street, police said.
