By Caitlin Mota The Jersey Journal JERSEY CITY -- Eleven people, including a city firefighter, are being treated for carbon monoxide exposure at an apartment building on the city's West Side, officials said. Three people who were exposed to the carbon monoxide are listed in critical condition, city spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill said. The incident happened at 168 Harrison Ave., a 16-family residential building between Kennedy Boulevard and Bergen Avenue, at approximately 11:30 a.m. Officials say a malfunctioning boiler may have been what caused the exposure. The city's fire department and Office of Emergency Management are on scene with PSE&G and the building's management.
