A homeless man who had been living in a car in a lot on Tonnelle Avenue in Jersey City was found dead this morning, possible a victim of the bitter cold last night.

The man had been living in the car for roughly three months, said a worker at DuBow's, Auto Body, who did not give his name. He said the man was found outside the car in an adjacent lot this morning when employees arrived at 8 a.m..

The temperatures hovered in the teens for most of yesterday and dropped to 5 degrees overnight. Police were investigating this morning, but the man's death did not appear to be suspicious.

The DuBow's employee said security video from another business in Tonnelle Avenue showed the man outside the car, then drop to his knees and then to the ground.

More information on the man's death was not immediately available.
