"manner of death was suicide," officials say
Jonathan Lin/The Jersey Journal The 28-year-old Jersey City man who was found dead on the steps of a Jersey City home at around 2 a.m. this morning committed suicide, Hudson County Prosecutor's Office spokesman Gene Rubino stated in a press release. When Jersey City police arrived at the scene at 1:45 a.m., Jerome Banks was lying on the front steps of 685 Communipaw Avenue with "an apparent gunshot wound to the head," Rubino stated. A man walking by the Jersey City home saw Banks lying on the stairs and called emergency responders, Rubino stated. Rubino said a handgun was recovered near Banks' dead body and that there were "no other obvious injuries to the deceased." Read More
