Jersey City man charged in early-morning sexual assault

A Jersey City man charged in a vicious rape was quickly arrested thanks to a 911 call by a witness, and a fast response by police led to his capture as he ran while trying to hold his pants up, officials said.

Eric Leslie, 24, of Monticello Avenue, is charged with dragging the woman behind a trailer, brutally assaulting, and then raping her just after midnight this morning on Amity Street, police reports said. He is charged with aggravated sexual assault, aggravated assault and kidnapping, the criminal complaint says.
