Something definetely needs to be done about what is happening in this neighborhood. I just move into second street a few months ago and there have been about 3 burglaries on this block.
I also saw frozen blood on the corner of second and brunswick and was told by a neighbor she heard gunshots that night. (friday the 30th)

I agree! And not only that...but how come there isn't more information on this shooting in the news/online? Does anyone have information?

That is my neighborhood and I find it quite disturbing that no information can be found in regards to a shooting...I'd like to think that something of this nature is not being considered run of the mill (yet) no matter what the location. The police/mayor's office should release information on it...

It's only now that I'm seeing more cops in the area. The Mayor puts them out right before an election and then tucks them away for 3 1/2 years. One big dog and pony show in my opinion

Bottom line : Both the Latin Lounge and Indios Place are loud and disruptive to the neighborhood.

Jersey City man shot in leg; no arrest made

Monday, February 02, 2009

A 29-year-old Jersey City man was shot in his left leg early Saturday morning at First Street and Brunswick Avenue, reports said.

Shot at about 2:42 a.m., the Van Wagenen Avenue resident was treated for non-life threatening injuries at the Jersey City Medical Center and listed in stable condition yesterday, officials said.

Responding to reports of shots fired, police found a large group gathered at the scene, took statements from five witnesses, and found five shell casings from a 9 mm Luger, reports said.

No arrests were made.

I went to the vintage store and there was frozen blood in the snow. Now what is strange is that my bedroom windows face both 2nd street and Brunswick. I never heard a thing. There was some crazy madness last evening/morning but I just tossed it up to late night drinking.
